Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe: Chicago’s Eleven-Day Runway Reign, From Museums to Streetwear

From October 8 through 18, 2026, Chicago becomes fashion’s most inviting city. Chicago Fashion Week stages 50 runway shows, pop-ups, industry seminars, shopping events, and launch parties — all open to the public — across museums, design spaces, shops, and galleries in neighborhoods citywide.

The calendar is packed with standouts. Marche Prive: Fashion Week Edition opens at the Zhou B Art Center on October 10, setting an artistic tone. The T-shirt Upcycling Workshop at Ryerson Hall on October 14 puts craft in people’s hands, while the Chicago Fair Trade Clothing Swap on October 16 celebrates conscious style.

Streetwear, Vintage, and the Avant-Garde

October 17 brings a double header: the Chicago Streetwear Expo at The Expo Warehouse and Flamboyant by Force at Silveroom — two very different rooms, one shared love of self-expression.

With a mix of free and ticketed events covering fashion history, vintage, and the avant-garde, Chicago’s take on fashion week feels like the city itself: ambitious, unpretentious, and open to all.
